Course Descriptions
Math 31 is the introductory course to Calculus. Math 31 is a prerequisite for Engineering at University. Chem 20 introduces chemical procedures. A general theoretical course basis with hands-on experience in the lab. Chem 30 prepares students for university chemistry.

Alan Fiebich received his BA in physical education from Augustana University College in 2004 and his B.Ed from the University of Alberta in 2007.  Alan enjoys many sports, outdoor activities such as long distance running, camping, paddling, hiking, as well as reading.

Physical Education 10 focuses on team sports and activities, Physical Education 20 teaches students many individual sports and Physical Education 30 students will do much more academic work and learning coaching and instruction techniques.  Physical Education 20 and 30 are offered on subsequent years.

CALM 20 (Career and Life Management) is a required course teaching units on Self Awareness, Careers and the World of Work, Wellbeing, Relationships and Communication, Human Sexuality, and Independent Living.

ESL focuses on English language skills at the level of the students enrolled and prepair students to work up to a English 10 level.

Course Description
In all levels of the Pure Math, according to Alberta Learning, the emphasis is on mathematical theory where algebra and graphing are used to solve problems. Students are expected to communicate solutions to problems clearly and to apply mathematical concepts and procedures to real-life problems.

Jordan Van BiertJordan Van Biert

New to Concordia this year, Jordan Van Biert is a professional musician and choral conductor. He directs Vocal Alchemy, a community choir in Edmonton, and sings with Pro Coro Canada, Alberta’s professional choir. He serves as Director of Music at Trinity Lutheran Church, conducting choirs in English and German. His teaching experience ranges from working with young children, to high school and university students, to adults.

Course Description
Students taking Choir at Concordia learn to experience the possibilities of making music together, exploring music from all genres and periods. In addition to rehearsing and performing, the class involves exploration of music history, music theory, ear training and sight reading.
